Alien Panic, Second in the Phane Trilogy, has arrived. Phane Vikos is an anthropologist from a distant planet who was abandoned by his expedition on Earth and left to perish. It’s not his fault if he looks like a green tennis ball with tentacles. Phane narrowly escaped capture in the first volume, Alien Body (eBook at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VWKRH75), and now…
Now he’s back on stage but accused of kidnapping! Lou Buck, disgraced ex-cop and ex-con, is hunting for Lacey, his kidnapped daughter and the trail leads to Phane, an ordinary-looking guy. Phane claims to know nothing but Lou’s associate positively identifies Phane as one of the jailers in a prison where he saw Lacey. Phane adds it up. “They’re here,” he says. “I thought the Vikosian expedition had left this planet, but they’ve landed.” Lou says, “What?”
When Phane transforms into his “natural” tennis-ball state, Lou is convinced. Phane agrees to help Lou find his daughter and the alien jail out in the desert near Sparks, Nevada. They learn that the expeditionary commander, Rimar, is planning to invade the the Earth and keep herds of humans in pens “for agricultural purposes.” That doesn’t sound good to Lou.
